The smaller sizes 2g-3g-4g-5g-6g Belly Weights are produced in larger batches in a commercial grade spin cast machine. These molds were originally designed to also hold a swivel/hanger, which results in a small loop of extra lead on one end (see pictures). This loop often breaks off in storage and shipping, but can also be easily clipped with pliers or even broken off with bare hands. All measurements and weights assume this excess loop has been removed. Each of these belly weights have been designed with rings molded into the lead to ensure epoxy or glue will have a very good grip. See the notes below for specific measurements on each of the sizes.

2gram weight (1.9gram on average) measures 15/64” (0.235”) diameter and just over 1/4” (0.275”) tall
3gram weight (2.85gram on average) measures 1/4” (0.25”) diameter and just over 11/32” (0.355”) tall
4gram weight (3.93gram on average) measures 1/4” (0.25”) diameter and just shy of 1/2” (0.480”) tall
5gram weight (5.55gram on average) measures slightly larger than 1/4” on average (fits better in a 17/64” hole) and is about 5/8” (0.640”) tall
6gram weight (6.05gram on average) measures just under 21/64” (0.315”) diameter and about 15/32” (0.460”) tall

These larger 9g and 17g Belly Weights were specifically designed to work with the belly shape of our 247 Lures Needlefish bodies, but also work well for other plugs and a variety of designs. These are poured by hand and in our workshop with custom molds that were designed and machined custom for our own production. We do our best to keep these weights as consistent as possible, and we clip off the lead gate and any deformities the best we can.

9gram weight (8.94gram on average) They fit nicely in a 3/8” diameter hole, and measure about 1/2” tall. Like the 17 gram size, the face/top is slightly curved to fit the curved bottom of a wooden plug.
17gram weight (17.001gram on average) These are larger than what most builders require for their plugs, but can also be cut/filed down as needed. These will fit snugly in a hole drilled to 15/32” or 31/64” diameter, and they measure about 9/16” tall. Like the 9 gram size, the face/top is slightly curved to fit the curved bottom of a wooden plug.
